Danny Simmons

DANNY SIMMONS, age 53, of Cornelia, GA passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010, following a sudden illness. Mr. Simmons was born in Commerce, GA on May 18, 1956. He was preceded in death by his father, Coy Simmons and mother, Ruth Simmons. Mr. Simmons was a member of Mt. Vernon Fire Baptized Holiness Church. He was employed with City of Baldwin through Wooden and Curns. Survivors include son, Eric Simmons, Demorest; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Matt Allen, Alto; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Sonia Simmons, Alto; Eric's grandmother, Barbara Freeman, Demorest and Eric's Aunt, Tawana Still, Demorest. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Lester Haynes and Rev. Wes Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The Simmons family will receive friends on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
