CRANFORD DALTON, age 89, of Homer, GA, died Wednesday, May 02, 2007 at a private care facility. Mr. Dalton was born on August 5, 1917 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Lester and Lillie Meeks Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Dalton, a son, Jerry Dalton, a brother, L. T. Dalton and sisters, Vassie Long, Myrtle Woodring, Ruth Pruitt, and Dorothy Arflin. Mr. Dalton was a member of the Line Baptist Church and served as treasurer for 18 years. He was a retired poultry and cattle farmer. Survivors include: his wife, Jonnie Emmett Dalton, Homer, GA; his daughter and son-in-law: Laurell D. and Howard Ward, Homer, GA; his sister: Francine Spencer, Indianapolis, IN; his brother: Rev. Young Dalton, Copper Canyon, TX; Grandson and his wife: Cranley and Joy Ward, Baldwin, GA; Grandsons: Dennis Dalton, Homer, GA and Dwayne Dalton, Texas; Granddaughter: Beth Manross, Griffin, GA; 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Garry Garrison and Rev. Young Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Line Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roy Rogers officiating at the graveside. The family will receive at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
