Coy Simmons

COY SIMMONS, age 81, of Baldwin, GA died Thursday, October 19, 2006 following an extended illness. Mr. Simmons was born May 29, 1925 in Banks County, GA to the late Garnett and Ina Eller Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters. Mr. Simmons was of the Holiness Faith. He was a saw miller all of his working career and retired from Cornelia Veneer Company. Survivors included: his wife, Ruth Simmons, Baldwin, GA, daughter and son-in-law: Sharon and Matt Allen, Alto, GA, son: Danny Simmons, Demorest, GA, son and daughter-in-law: Lynn and Sonia Simmons, Alto, GA, sister: Reba Zimmerman, Clarkesville, GA, 3 brothers: Reece Simmons, Baldwin, GA, Roy Simmons, Habersham, GA, Clyde Simmons, Clarkesville, GA and 5 grandchildren: Jodie Bochat, Casey, Simmons, Eric Simmons, Justin Allen and Courtney Allen. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Lester Haynes and Rev. Wes Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the funeral home.
