Connice Free Ledford Wood

Connice Free Ledford Wood, age 87, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Wood was born on February 13, 1924, in Rabun County, Georgia, to the late Harmon Carr and Mollie T. Baker Free. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eireth Ledford and widow of R.T. Wood. Mrs. Wood was a homemaker and a member of The Bridge Worship Center. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Sutton, Cornelia, GA and Arlene Collins, Young Harris, GA; sons, Junior Ledford, Mt. Airy, GA and Ronald Ledford, Demorest, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Donna Ledford, Demorest, GA, David and Margaret Ledford, Clarkesville, GA, and Leon and Cindy Ledford, Homer, GA; sister, Mildred Gunn, Demorest, GA; brother, Lewis Free; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Mr. Stan Wood and Mr. Jeremy Ledford officiating. Burial will follow in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
