Clyde F. Wilbanks, age 80, of Gainesville, GA died Monday, September 17, 2007 in Augusta, GA. Mr. Wilbanks was born in Hall County on October 13, 1926 to the late Albert F. and India Mae Pittman Wilbanks. and was preceded in death by his daughter Pilerica Wilbanks. Mr. Wilbanks was a member of BC Grant Baptist Church. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers (UCT # 416), Gainesville Lions Club and the Gainesville Elks Club. He was a Woodman and a member of American Legion Post # 7. Mr. Wilbanks served on the Board of Trustees of Lakeview Academy and he was a charter member of the Gainesville Non-profit Development Foundation Inc. with 27 years of service. He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran. Mr. Wilbanks worked as a Branch Manager with Mayfield Dairies for a number of years, and he worked with the Gainesville- Hall County Family and Children Service Board for a number of years. He was a supporter of the Newman School and was a Scouting Leader. Survivors include: his wife: Zella Autry Wilbanks, Gainesville, GA; his son and daughter-in-law: Tim F. & Debbie Wilbanks., Baldwin, GA; his sister: Eurilla W. Chastain, Cornelia, GA; his brother and sister-in-law: Lamar & Jean Wilbanks, Baldwin, GA; and his two grandchildren: Zachary F. & Matthew P. Wilbanks, both of Baldwin, GA. Wilbanks pg 2/2 Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, September 20, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Jim McClendon and Rev. David Gravitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Banks County Memorial Gardens with military honors.
