CLYDE WARD, age 81, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Ward was born on December 30, 1930, in Hall County, Georgia; a son of the late Frank and Fannie Jackson Ward. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Deamie Parson Ward and son, Wayne Allen Ward. Mr. Ward was the retired owner of Ward Construction Company with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest, Georgia. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Reddish, Demorest, GA; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ward, Clarkesville, GA; son, Dale Ward, Alto, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Kay Ward and Ricky and Cindy Ward, both of Alto, GA; sisters, Betty Tedder, Gastonia, NC and Jimmie Lou Bryant, Charlotte, NC; brother, Dave Ward, Ft. Myers, FL; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest with Dr. Charles Holland and Rev. Russ Barker officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary's Cross Baptist Church Cemetery in Clermont, Georgia with Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 988 Historic Highway 441 North, Demorest, Georgia 30535.
