Clifford Spry, Jr.

Clifford Spry, Jr., age 68, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Mr. Spry was born on September 22, 1947 in Rossmore, West Virginia to the late Clifford, Sr. and Lillie Mae Hall Spry. He was affiliated with First Baptist Church, Cornelia and was a member of Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720. Mr. Spry was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran where he received two Purple Hearts during his time of service. He was formerly employed with Mt. Vernon Mills with fifteen years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Karen Simmons Spry, Cornelia, GA; daughters, Tracy Arrowood, Alto, GA, Daisy Kitchens, Gillsville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford A. and Michelle Spry, Hayesville, NC; sisters, Ellie Gross, High Shoals, NC, Dorothy Vance, Chapmanville, WV; brothers, Naamon Spry, Chapmanville, WV, Cecil Spry, Lincolnton, NC, Clarence Spry, Holden, WV, Orville Spry, Chapmanville, WV, Charlie Spry, Stallings, WV; and a doting and proud grandfather of six grandchildren. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016 at VFW Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Eric Spivey officiating and full military honors provided by Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720, Rabun County DAV. Chapter 15, and Habersham County American Legion 84. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on the day of the service at the funeral home.
