CLIFFORD PALMER, age 84, of Demorest, Georgia died Monday, December 10, 2007 at a private care facility. Mr. Palmer was born on December 8, 1923 in White County, Georgia to the late Thomas and Beulah Stamey Palmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Beatrice Daniel, Ruth Daniel and Vera Allen as well as brothers, Roy, Ray Willie, and Robert Palmer. Mr. Palmer was a member of Habersham Baptist Church having served as a deacon. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and was retired from Clarkesville Mill as a training instructor with 37 ½ years of dedicated service. Survivors include: wife: Sue Palmer, Demorest, GA; daughter and son-in-law: Susan & Michael Davis, Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law: Bruce & Beth Palmer, Cornelia, GA; brother: G. A. Palmer, Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren: Jordan Davis, Emily Davis, Joseph Palmer, and Kerston Palmer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Tim Burpee, and Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Matt Thomas officiating. Full military honors provided by the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15 and the Habersham County American Legion Post # 84. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
