Claude C. Coker

CLAUDE C. COKER, age 75, of Demorest, GA, died Monday, December 04, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Coker was born on January 20, 1931 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Dan S. and Carrie Croy Coker. He was also preceded in death by brothers James and Bobby Coker as well as a sister Effie Jane Davis. Mr. Coker was a United States Air Force Korean Conflict veteran and was a self-employed farmer and builder. He was a member and a deacon of the Skitts Mountain Baptist Church. Mr. Coker was a member of the Cornelia Lodge #92 F & A M. Survivors include: his wife: Willie Lee Morrison Coker, Demorest, GA; his children: Connie and Wayne Quarles, Demorest, GA; Beverly and Michael Tost, Demorest, GA; Cheryl and John Merritt, Cornelia, GA; Greg and Barbara Coker, Demorest, GA; Stephanie and Ronald Lewallen, Demorest, GA; brothers: Charles D. Coker, Eatonton, GA; Randall Coker, Dublin, GA; Grandchildren: Matthew Quarles, Megan Williams, John Bardinelli, Jacob Bardinelli, Heather Bardinelli, Raya Tost, Lindsay Merritt, Ben Merritt, Corey Coker, Clint Coker, Caleb Lewallen, and Charlotte Lewallen; Great-grandchildren: Justin Williams, Evan Quarles, and Kalyn Quarles; Step-great-grandchild: Chase Hicks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 from the Skitts Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Savage and Rev. James Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites provided by the Cornelia Lodge #92 F & A M. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
