Clara Mae Haynie, Age 90, of Baldwin, GA died Monday, July 30, 2007 at Habersham County Medical Center. Mrs. Haynie was born in Barrow Co. on March 4, 1917 to the late Arthur and Nettie Cook Elrod. She was also preceded in death by her husband: John Mark Haynie, son: Harvey Haynie, sister: Billie Hardigree, and brother: Kenny Elrod. Mrs. Haynie was a member of Mt. Zion UMC where she played the organ for many years. She was a retired seamstress with Yonah Realty over 20 years. Survivors included: daughter: Brenda Gaddis, Alto, GA; daughter-in-law Angie Haynie, Crawford, GA; three sisters: Shirley Thornton, Winder, GA, Mary Brown,Winder, GA, Winifred "Dink" Sailors, Winder, GA and one Sister-in-law Reba Elrod, Winder, GA. Mrs. Haynie had three grandsons and two grand-daughter-in-laws: Kevin and Theresa Gaddis, Jeffrey and Suzzana Haynie, and Joel Haynie; four great-grandsons: Blake and Bailey Gaddis, and R.J. and Kennedy Haynie. Funeral services will be held at 4pm Thursday, August 2, 2007 from Mt. Zion UMC with Rev. Edwin Smith, Rev. Woodrow Hix, Rev. Jan Deveraux officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Flowers are optional, donations may be made to Mt. Zion UMC 516 Alto Mud Creek Road, Alto, GA 30510. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 9pm on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 from Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
