Mrs. Cheryl Marie Witt, age 35, of Calhoun, formerly of Acworth, died Friday, July 3, 2009. Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, July 6, 2009 at Acworth United Methodist Church. Rev. Andy Witt, Rev. Dr. Mike Cash, Rev. Dr. Mike Cavin, Rev. Dr. Gene Mallard, Rev. Dr. Jane Brooks, Rev. Brian Butler, and Rev. Jim Akin will officiate. Burial will be held 11 am, Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church in Alto, GA Born in Fort McClellan, AL. Cheri was raised all over the world; her father was a military Chaplain. She graduated from high school in Germany. She received a fine arts degree from Piedmont College and received a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting and Vocal performance at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. Cheri was a Music teacher at McCall Primary School in Acworth. She was a member of Acworth United Methodist Church, Cheri had a joy and enthusiasm for life, giving generously to those in need. She was a devoted minister's wife, loving mother, cherished daughter and true friend. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Robert Andrew "Andy" Witt of Calhoun, GA; children, Charles Davis Witt, Jessie Troy Witt, and Rebekah Marie Witt; her parents, Rev. Dr. Charles & Doris Mallard of Clarksville, GA; her 2 brothers, Richard Lee Mallard of Ft. Worth, TX and Timothy Sanders Mallard of Columbia, SC; her sister, Rebekah Eileen Huntley of Clarksville, GA In lieu of flowers, an Education Fund for Davis, Jessie, and Rebekah has been established c/o Joan Bates at Acworth United Methodist Church 4340 Collins Circle, Acworth, GA 30101-5222. Family will receive friends from 6 till 9 pm, Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Acworth United Methodist Church and 1 till 2 pm, on Monday, July 6, 2009.
