Charles W. "Ted" Forbes

CHARLES W. "TED" FORBES, age 87, of Cornelia, GA, died Monday, May 29, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Forbes was born on August 6, 1918 in Boone County, WV. He was a son of the late C. W. and Cora Forbes and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Forbes, his brother Oscar Forbes and his sister, Mary Staggs. Mr. Forbes was a United States Army World War II veteran and was a retired Coal Miner. Survivors include: his former wife: Donna Morris, Hartwell, GA; sons and daughters-in-law: Chuck and Chris Forbes, Cornelia, GA; Keith and Tonya Forbes, Hartwell, GA; 3 step-sons: Ronald Woolwine, Hartwell, GA; Donald Woolwine, Hartwell, GA; Rick Woolwine, Demorest, GA; 9 grandchildren: Justin Forbes, Jeff Swanner, Amanda Swanner, Tyler Forbes, Preston Forbes, Denver Forbes, Breanna Forbes, Zack Woolwine, and Antonio Woolwine; 5 great-grandchildren: Haley Forbes, Jayda Forbes, Dominic Forbes, Aeron Forbes, and Amarha Knox. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Doyal Conley officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Habersham County American Legion Post 84 and the Rabun County DAV Chapter 15 The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
