Charles E. "Chad" Moser, Jr., age 76, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Decatur, Georgia, after a short illness. Mr. Moser was born in Glen Cove, New York on June 20, 1935; he was the son of the late Charles E. Moser, Sr. and Frances Purtell Nolan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Russell Nolan and his daughter, Debbie Bechtel - Forgiel. Mr. Moser was a charter member of the Young Marines, a former Connecticut State Commandant of the Marine Corps League, and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family in Jasper, Georgia. Mr. Moser was a veteran of the United States Marines from 1953 to 1956, having served during the Korean Conflict. Up until the time of his death, Mr. Moser worked as a VRI Resort Manager at Big Canoe. Survivors include his loving wife, Dottie Moser, Jasper, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel C. Moser and Maria de Leon, Ft. Myers, FL; half sister, Veronica Humes, Tucson, AZ; half brothers, Jim Nolan, Cleveland, GA, Tom "Butch" Moser, Boynton Beach, FL, and Edward "Skip" Moser, Delray Beach, FL; grandchildren, Toby Whitbeck, Amber Bechtel, and Danielle Bechtel; and great-grandchild, Riley Bechtel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2011, from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Roy G. Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted.
