Cecil E. Byram

CECIL E. BYRAM, age 88, of Cornelia, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015. Mr. Byram was born August 10,1927 in Whitesburg, GA to the late Udon and Winnie Mae Cansler Byram. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, worked 35 years as a telecommunications engineer with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph, was a builder, and served his country as a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran. Mr. Byram was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia, where he was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Audice Byram. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rachel D. Byram; son, Donald Byram; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Susan S. Byram; grandchildren, Stuart Byram and spouse, Susan, Leslie Byram, David Byram and Phillip Byram; and dear friend, Debra Duncan. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2015 at Whitfield Home, North Chapel with Dr. Eric Spivey and Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the US Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 4, 2015 from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour.
