Carolyn Nix Skelton

CAROLYN NIX SKELTON, age 63, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Skelton was born in Hall County, Georgia on February 12, 1948, a daughter of the late Homer and Bonnie Mae Truelove Nix. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy Skelton. Mrs. Skelton worked at the Clarkesville Garment Company for 25 years and a member of the White Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Debbie Skelton, Clarkesville, GA and Jason and Amanda Skelton, Mt. Airy, GA; sisters, Virginia Phillips, Clarkesville, GA, Lois Ann Holbrooks, Doraville, GA, Catherine Hobson, Cornelia, GA, and Joyce Jones, Clarkesville, GA; brothers, Richard Nix, Demorest, GA, Rev. Robert Nix, Lula, GA, and Raymond Nix, Clarkesville, GA; and four grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Robert Nix officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
