Carl W. Lathan

CARL W. LATHAN, age 80, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Lathan was born on November 28, 1931, in Habersham County, Georgia; son of the late Dawson and Dorothy Cash Lathan. Mr. Lathan was a retired employee of Habersham Metal Products with 39 years of service. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and the Cornelia Masonic Lodge No. 92 F. & A.M. Survivors include his loving wife, Mildred Colbert Lathan, Cornelia, GA; daughter, Donna P. Dover, Cornelia, GA; sisters, Louise Allen and Valorie Galloway, both of Mt. Airy, GA and Betty Gosnell, Cornelia, GA; and brother, E.J. Lathan, Mt.Airy, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Brian James and Mr. Clyde Ivester officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites provided by the Cornelia Masonic Lodge No. 92 F. & A.M. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the funeral home.
