Carey "Dobber" Pate

Carey "Dobber" Pate, age 63, of Cornelia, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2017, following a sudden illness. Mr. Pate was born on May 5, 1954, in Clanton, Alabama; a son of the late Coy and Fannie Ruth Pate. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Coy Pate, Jr. Mr. Pate was employed with Pride Utility Construction. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Angela Pate of Cornelia; daughter, Tanya Pate of Jemison, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Valinda Pate of Jemison, AL; sisters, Sue Thornhill and Nancy Gothard, both of Jemison, AL; brothers: Bobby Pate of Leeds, AL, Ted Pate of Jemison, AL, and David Pate of Jemison, AL; and grandchildren: Braden Compton, Lane Pate, and Abby Pate, all of Jemison, AL. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Greg Nix and Rev. Garry English officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to the service hour on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the funeral home.
