Burch Simmons

Burch Simmons, age 87 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Simmons was born in Banks County, Georgia on April 25, 1925, to the late Johnny and Dosha Broome Simmons. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lovenie Erwin Simmons, six brothers and five sisters. He was a Saw Miller for a number of years and was a well known produce farmer in this area. Survivors include daughter, Brenda Dean, Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Bernice Simmons, Cornelia, Wayne and Grace Simmons, and Glenn and Brenda Simmons, all of Cleveland; four sisters, Geraldine Marcus, Demorest, Betty Harvo, Demorest, Ruth Caufman, Stockbridge and Pat York, Ohio; ten grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Verner London and Rev. W.A. Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
