Brenda Newsome Whitfield

BRENDA NEWSOME WHITFIELD, age 61, of Baldwin, Georgia, died Monday, August 20, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Whitfield was born on February 20, 1946 in Habersham County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Whitfield, her mother, Estelle Wilbanks Newsome, and a sister Barbara Ann Newsome. Mrs. Whitfield was a member of the Broad River Baptist Church. Survivors include: her father, Arzo Newsome, Baldwin, Georgia; her sister: Elora Watkins, Cornelia, GA; her brothers: Lilburn Newsome and Gary Newsome, both of Baldwin, GA; 3 nieces and 3 nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Luther Williams and Rev. Tim House officiating. Burial will follow in the Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian James officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
