Bonnie Cash Anderson

Bonnie Cash Anderson, age 91, of Demorest, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Born in Habersham County, on April 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Albert Duncan Cash and Ethel Maxwell Cash. She is the last of her immediate family. Mrs. Anderson was the widow of Verdell Anderson; they were married October 5, 1940 until his death August 3, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Morgan V. Anderson and Leo Verdell Anderson. Mrs. Anderson attended Piedmont College and taught school for 1 year. She was a member of the Demorest Baptist Church, choir member, WMU Director, pianist, and G.A. Leader. Other memberships included Tomochichi Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Habersham County Historical Society, and a former member of the Habersham Chapter of United Daughters of Confederacy. Mrs. Anderson had special interest in Genealogy; she also contributed to family and church history books. Mrs. Anderson was a loving mother, wife and dedicated homemaker for almost 60 years. Survivors include daughters, Elnora Carlton, Canon, GA, Delores Anderson, Demorest, GA; 2 grandchildren and spouses, Jeffrey and Mary Jo Carlton, St. Clairsville, Ohio, Yvonne and Mark Benson, Canon, GA; 4 great-grandchildren, Emilee Carlton, Riley Carlton, Nathaniel Benson, Matthew Benson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Demorest Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Mewborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Glade Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2009, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
