Bill Chaffin

BILL CHAFFIN, age 76, of Baldwin, Georgia, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Chaffin was born on June 17, 1931 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Wallace (Jabo) and Willie Mae Holland Chaffin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son David Earl Chaffin. Mr. Chaffin was a self-employed auto body repairman for most of his life and loved attending auctions and car races. He was of the Baptist faith and was a volunteer fireman with the Baldwin Fire Department with 14 years of service. Survivors include: his wife: Bertie McDuffie Chaffin, Baldwin, GA; his daughters: Betty Ann Pitts, Calhoun Falls, SC; Janice Chaffin Ledford, Baldwin, GA; his sons: Charles Chaffin, Cleveland, GA; Rick Chaffin, Cornelia, GA; Michael Chaffin, Baldwin, GA; his brother: Bob Chaffin, Provo, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Luther Williams and Rev. James Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday.
