Betty Jane Ivie Barnette

BETTY JANE IVIE BARNETTE, age 80, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Mrs. Barnette was born in Habersham County, Georgia, on June 1, 1932, to the late Warner and Vassie Free Ivie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Barnette, sisters, Lurlene Ritchie, Willie Hazel Shubert and Irene Vickery; brothers, Taft, J.T., Clyde, Lewis and Ernest Ivie. Mrs. Barnette was a homemaker. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Randall Hallford, Demorest; son, Tommy Webb, Plains; sister, Doris Wilson, Cornelia; brother, Troy Ivie, Cornelia, four grandchildren, Lew Hallford, Megan Hallford Gomez, Heath Webb, and Ashley Webb Clouatre and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Barrow Memorial Gardens with Rev. Megan Hallford Gomez officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
