Betty H. Hendrix

BETTY H. HENDRIX, age 85, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014. Mrs. Hendrix was born on June 11, 1928 in Otto, North Carolina; daughter of the late William H. and Icie McClure Henson. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Davis and Edna Barbree. Mrs. Hendrix received her Associates Degree from Piedmont College. She was a member of the Tomochichi Chapter, Daughter's of the American Revolution and a member and past officer of the Demorest Women's Club. Mrs. Hendrix was a member of Cornelia First Presbyterian Church and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a homemaker and was an agent for Metropolitan Life and Causality Life Insurance Company. Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, J. Perry Hendrix, Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, John and Mei Hendrix, Bluefield, WV; grandson, Joshua F. Hendrix, Bluefield, WV; sister-in-law, Betty D. Hendrix, Mt. Airy. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Blaine Walker and Josh Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow in the Demorest City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm.
