Bessie Mae Martin Dooley

BESSIE MAE MARTIN DOOLEY, age 89, of Homer, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at a local care facility. Mrs. Dooley was born on October 29, 1923, in Banks County, Georgia, where she lived all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Burie D. and Mae Reems Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Dooley; sisters, Sally Hardy, Addie Stewart, Ruth Simmons, and Lucille Cagle; and brother, Roy Dean Martin. Mrs. Dooley was a retired seamstress with Blue Bell Manufacturing Company with 36 years of service. She is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Mrs. Dooley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Roy G. Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
