BARCHES EVA MCENTIRE GERRIN, age 101 of Demorest, GA passed away Friday, November 26, 2010, at her residence. Mrs. Gerrin was born in Habersham County on April 2, 1909, to the late Roland and Carrie Groves McEntire. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Gerrin, 2 sons, Coy Lee and Kenneth Gerrin, son-in-law, Harold Skelton, sisters, Myrtle Addis and Daisy Addis, brothers, John Henry and Claude McEntire, step-sister, Edith Brewer, half brother, Reeves McEntire. Mrs. Gerrin was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Barney and Jo Ann Gerrin, Clarkesville, GA, Guy and Dorothy Gerrin, Cleveland, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and LeRoy Smith, Cornelia, GA, Genell and Monte Smith, Cornelia, GA, Janice and Thomas Echols, Alto, GA; daughter, Linda Skelton, Demorest, GA; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rennie Tomlin, Cornelia, GA, and half brother, Louis McEntire, Anderson, SC; Funeral service will be held at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2010, with Rev. Keith Allison and Rev. Guy Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA at 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010.
