Barbara Hogan York

BARBARA HOGAN YORK, age 59, of Cornelia, GA, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. York was born on May 20, 1946 in Gordon County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Rev. T. E. and Sarah Opal Plunkett Hogan. Mrs. York was retired from Scovill Fasteners with 33 years of service. She was a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, James R. "Bobby" York, Sr., Cornelia, GA; her daughter and son-in-law: Faye Michelle "Mickey" and Kevin Hill, Mt. Airy, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: James R. "Bobby", Jr. and Karla York, Tallahassee, FL; Sisters: Patsy Tapley, Chatsworth, GA; Faye Zimmerman, Cornelia, GA; Brothers: Rev. Jimmy Hogan, Chatsworth, GA; Tony Hogan, Lawrenceville, GA; 4 grandchildren: Hillary and Taylor Hill, Mt. Airy, GA; Jamie and Brandon York, Tallahassee, FL; Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with Rev. William Cox and Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Monday.
