Barbara Jane Tench Hellard

Barbara Jane Tench Hellard, age 74, of Baldwin, Georgia went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2011, following an extended illness. Mrs. Hellard was born in Gastonia, North Carolina on November 23, 1936, to the late J.C. and Fannie Mae Elrod Tench. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hellard, Sr., and her brother Jerry Tench. She was a member of The Rock of Habersham. Mrs. Hellard was a child care worker having served for 15 dedicated years at KinderCare. Survivors include her daughter, Connie Furlow, Baldwin, GA; sons, Randy Hellard, Alto, GA and Robert Hellard, Gainesville, GA; sisters, Dianne Chapman, Clarkesville, GA and Virginia Thompson, Cornelia, GA; brother, Johnny Tench, Dahlonega, GA; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA with Rev. Robin Martin, and Rev. Mike Fowler officiating. There will be a meal following the service at The Rock of Habersham. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 3, 2011, from noon until the memorial hour.
