Anthony Dixon

ANTHONY B. "TONY" DIXON, age 67, of Cool Springs Road, Clarkesville, GA, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Dixon was born on August 28, 1941 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Charlie L. Dixon and Mildred Dixon Strait. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Haven Dixon and Allen Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a member of the Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church and a member of the RSES (Refrigeration Engineer Society). He was the founder of Dixon-McCollum Heating and Air. Survivors include: his wife: Annie Merck Dixon, Clarkesville, GA; his daughter and son-in-law: Leanne and Scott Andrews, Carnesville, GA; his sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Susan Dixon, Cleveland, GA; Charlie and Joy Dixon, Clarkesville, GA; his sister: Elaine Gerrell, Royston, GA; his brother: David Dixon, Clarkesville, GA; his sister-in-law: Rosemary Dixon Clayton, GA; his grandchildren: Kayla Dixon, Carly Dixon, Cassie Dixon, Casey Andrews, Coty Andrews, Cory Andrews, Travis Ferguson, and Michael Ferguson; his great-grandchildren: Liam Ferguson, Clabe Ferguson, Cole Ferguson, and Chris Ferguson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Paul Flynn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, from 2 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
