Anne Adams Callaway

Anne Adams Callaway, age 96, of Clarkesville, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Mrs. Callaway was born on December 2, 1921, in Madison, Georgia; a daughter of the late David Wade and Minnie Belle Koger Adams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Oliver Callaway, Jr.; sisters, Ola Belle Parker and Rebecca Louise Greene; and brother, William Bates Koger Adams. Mrs. Callaway grew up in Atlanta where she attended Girls High School and the Atlanta Extension of the University of Georgia. She loved gardening and the study of wildflowers. Mrs. Callaway was a former member of the Georgia Botanical Society and the Heritage Center for the Arts. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James Thomas Callaway and Karen Callaway of Acworth; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Larissa and Jonathan Rooks of Roswell; great-granddaughter, Lily Blake Rooks; and great-grandson, Callaway Majors Rooks. A graveside service will be held at 11:45 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Demorest City Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Stowe officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until the service hour on Wednesday at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
