Ann S. Burrell

October 17, 1925 — September 12, 2007

ANN S. BURRELL, age 81, of Cornelia, GA died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Burrell was born on October 17, 1925 in Cook County, Illinois but moved shortly after to North Hollywood California and resided there until her marriage to Obra J. Burrell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Henrietta Hoberg Sanders and her husband, Obra J. Burrell. Mrs. Burrell was a member of the Demorest Baptist Church. She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was a former member of the ladies auxiliary with the Grant Reeves V. F. W Post #7720. Mrs. Burrell enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and making people laugh. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Tolbert Bramlett, Cornelia, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: David and Jenny Burrell, Mt. Airy, GA; her grandchildren: Kimberly Roads Schlapman, Nashville, TN; Robin Gee, Marietta, GA; Paula James, Demorest, GA; Selina Hayes, Maysville, GA; Shaina Burrell, Hailey Burrell, and Joshua Bramlett, all of Cornelia, GA; 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest with Rev. Brian James and Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Demorest Baptist Church, 755 Central Avenue, Demorest, GA 30535 or to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Pkwy., Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501. ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN THE CARE OF WHITFIELD FUNERAL HOME, NORTH CHAPEL, DEMOREST, GEORGIA.
