Alma Harrison Browning

ALMA HARRISON BROWNING, ALSO KNOWN AS " MRS. WOODY", age 90, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Mrs. Browning was born on December 20, 1923 in Grady County, Georgia; daughter of the late Charlie and Lille Mae Johnson Harrison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Browning, two brothers, one sister, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Browning was a member of Demorest Baptist Church, and was a retired co-owner of Woody's Trading Post and Auction Company and was a homemaker. Survivors include her son, Larry Christie, Demorest; sister, InaJean Nelson, Tallahassee, FL, sister-in-law, Linda Harrison, TN; five grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014.
