Alma Frye Church

ALMA FRYE CHURCH, age 93, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Mrs. Church was born in Habersham County, on July 23, 1919, to the late William R. and Brondella Franklin Frye. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Reeves E. Church, sisters, Wilma Elder, Gwendolyn Trotter and Eva King, brothers, Lawrence, Loris, Grady and D.V. Frye. Mrs. Church was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia. She was a member of the Ambassadors Club of Georgia Power Retired Employees and she was also a homemaker. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Col. Doug Church, United States Army Retired and Evelyn Reeves Church, Clarkesville; three grandchildren, Tracey and David Shalikashvili, Clarkesville, Bryan Church, Lawrenceville and Brent Church, Portland, OR; three great-grandchildren, Kyra, Katerina, and Alexandra Shalikashvili, all of Clarkesville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Dr. Bob Horner officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the funeral home.
