Alice Sue Dodd Standridge

ALICE SUE DODD STANDRIDGE, age 82, of Cornelia, Georgia, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at a private care facility. Ms. Standridge was born on April 10, 1926 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Sam and Clothie Lynch Dodd. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Monroe Dodd, her sisters, Lois Crocker, Gladys Crocker, Bernice Owensby, Evelyn Murray, Betty Elrod, and Vellie Thomas. Ms. Standridge was a member of the Alto Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with New Holland Mill with several years of service and was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills with 10 years of service. Survivors include: her daughter: Janie Sue Sellers Walker, Cornelia, GA; her grandchildren: Jason Gabriel Sellers and Amber Kirby Green; 4 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Harrill Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
