Al Francani, age 73, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, following an extended illness. Mr. Francani was born March 9, 1941 in Aliquippa, PA; son of the late Ernesto Francani and Ida Di Frichia-Francani. He was a retired Major with The United States Air Force with 20 years of loyal and dedicated service to his country; his service included The Vietnam conflict. After his military career, Mr. Francani owned and operated Francani & Associates and was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Lou Francani, Clarkesville, GA; daughters, Elissa Benjamin, Dawsonville, GA; Christina Scott; Raleigh, NC; son, Anthony Francani, Mableton, GA; brother, Dino Francani, Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Will Benjamin, Addie Scott, Braydon Scott and Josie Scott. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Clarkesville, Georgia with Deacon Gary Roche officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, Georgia, with full military honors by The United States Air Force. The funeral procession will be escorted by The Patriot Guard.
