Addie Marie Ballew Chosewood

ADDIE MARIE BALLEW CHOSEWOOD, age 86, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Mrs. Chosewood was born on December 23, 1925, in Habersham County to the late, Lon Bartow and Lillie Maebelle McClellon Stephens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert "Bob" Ballew; two grandchildren, Alan and Bobby Cameron; two brothers, Joe and Hoyt Stephens; and three sisters, Georgia Lou Cantrell, Zona Jordan, and Hazel Bennett. Mrs. Chosewood was a charter member of Alto Congregational Holiness Church and was oldest living charter member at time of her passing. Survivors include her husband, William Chosewood, Alto, GA; five daughters, Joyce Myers, Alto, GA, Joanne Cameron, Cornelia, GA, Janell Purdy, Alto, GA, Janet Green, Cornelia, GA and Jackie Ballew, Alto, GA; two step-sons, Max Chosewood, Alto, GA and Marshall Chosewood, Alto, GA; 12 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2012, from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Clarence Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Alto Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with Ms. Rachel Hooper officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
