Travis G. Ballew

TRAVIS G. BALLEW, age 56, of Demorest, Georgia died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Ballew was born on February 25, 1951 in Habersham County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene E. Ballew. Mr. Ballew was a member of the Central Heights Baptist Church. He was an employee of Georgia Power with 32 years of service. Survivors include: his wife: Brenda Wood Ballew, Demorest, GA; his mother: Mary Lou Smelcer Ballew, Demorest, GA; his step-daughter: Christy Gosnell, Clarkesville, GA; his son: Jacob Ballew, Clearwater, FL; his step-sons: Billy Henson, Cornelia, and Scott Shirley, Lincolnton, GA; his sister: Starlet "Star" Ballew, Demorest, GA; his grandchildren: Jalan Ballew, Drew Gosnell, Lindsey Gosnell, Tiffany Shirley, and Brandon Shirley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Wayne Fowler and Dr. Kenneth Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Demorest City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
