HOWARD L. MCALLISTER, age 84, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. McAllister was born on February 18, 1928, in Habersham County, Georgia; son of the late Will Burns and Mary R. Carter McAllister. He was a retired charter bus driver and heavy equipment operator. Mr. McAllister was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth A. McAllister, Clarkesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Ken Ray, Greenwood, SC; daughter, Amy Hemphill, Gainesville, GA; sister, Helen Coker, Cornelia, GA; and grandchildren, Andy Ray and Will Hemphill.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Brian James and Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the funeral home.
