SAMMIE LEE “SAM” ECHOLS, age 68, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
Mr. Echols was born on April 26, 1944, in Hall County, Georgia; a son of the late Lee and Bonnie Mae Pierce Echols. He was an employee of the Jaemor Farm Market and formerly employed with Habersham Hardware for a number of years. Mr. Echols was a member of the Belton Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Joyce Norris Echols, Lula, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Echols Arrowood and Jerry Arrowood, Lula, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Teri Echols, Lula, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy Echols Smith and Larry Smith, Gainesville, GA; brother, Dale Echols, Lula, GA; five grandchildren; aunts, Bobbie Slaton, Oakwood, GA, Shirley Canada, Gainesville, GA, and Faye Kehely, Atlanta, GA; uncle, Cohen Pierce, Gainesville, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Raymond Payne and Rev. Bobby Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Belton Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the funeral home.
